1. Purpose & Scope
The Shri Ram Universal School (TSUS), Bengaluru, provides a school transport service designed to ensure the safety, punctuality, and well-being of every student who avails it. This policy sets out the terms, conditions, and expectations governing the transport facility. By opting for the school transport service, parents and guardians agree to abide by the terms outlined in this document.
This policy applies to all students availing the school bus facility and to their parents or guardians, for the full duration of the academic year 2026-27.
2. Routes, Pick-Up & Drop Points
- Transport routes are planned by the school to cover the best possible pick-up and drop points, keeping in mind safety, road accessibility, travel time, and the overall efficiency of each route.
- Pick-up and drop points are determined solely by the school and are published prior to the commencement of the service.
- Once a pick-up and drop point is published, no alterations or changes will be made to it. Parents are requested to plan accordingly.
- Pick-up and drop points are common stops along a route; the service does not offer door-to-door pick-up unless a stop naturally falls at that location.
- Students must reach their designated pick-up point at least five minutes before the scheduled time. Buses will adhere to timings and cannot wait for late arrivals.
3. Fees, Instalments & Refund Policy
Important — Please Read Carefully
- The transport facility is a strictly no-refund service.
- Once a parent avails the transport service, the applicable installment must be paid in full — irrespective of the number of days the service is actually utilised.
- No refund, adjustment, or pro-rata calculation will be made for days, weeks, or months on which the service was not used, for any reason.
- Transport fees are charged on an installment basis, as notified by the school at the start of the academic year.
- Payment of each installment is due on or before the date specified by the school.
- Installment 1 due date: 5th June 2026 and Installment 2 due date: 5th October 2026
- Continued use of the service is subject to timely payment.
- Availing the service at any point within an instalment period makes the entire instalment payable in full.
- Absence of the student, family travel, holidays, medical leave, or discontinuation midway through an instalment period does not entitle the parent to any refund or reduction.
- Discontinuation of the service must be communicated to the school in writing; however, the instalment already availed remains payable and non-refundable.
4. Safety & Compliance
The safety of our students is the foremost priority of the TSUS transport service. The school ensures the following:
- All buses comply fully with the norms and regulations prescribed by the Government and the relevant transport authorities.
- Every vehicle undergoes periodic safety checks and routine maintenance to ensure it remains roadworthy and safe at all times.
- Buses are fitted with the safety features mandated by government regulations, and all statutory documents are kept valid and up to date.
- Drivers and attendants are verified, trained, and expected to maintain the highest standards of conduct and care towards students.
- A trained attendant accompanies students on board to supervise and assist them during the journey.
5. GPS Access for Parents
- Parents are given access to the GPS tracking of their ward’s route, enabling them to monitor the location of the bus in real time.
- This allows parents to plan pick-up and drop timings conveniently and adds an additional layer of transparency and safety.
- Login or access details for the GPS facility will be shared by the school with registered parents.
6. Student Conduct & Discipline
To ensure a safe journey for all, students are expected to observe the following:
- Remain seated at all times while the bus is in motion and follow the instructions of the driver and attendant.
- Maintain discipline and refrain from any behaviour that may distract the driver or endanger fellow passengers.
- Avoid putting any part of the body outside the windows and refrain from damaging bus property.
- Repeated misconduct may result in temporary or permanent withdrawal of the transport facility, at the school’s discretion, without any refund of fees.
7. Timings & Delays
- Bus timings are fixed as per the published schedule. Parents are requested to cooperate to keep the service punctual for all students.
- The school will make every effort to run the service on time; however, delays due to traffic, weather, road conditions, or circumstances beyond the school’s control may occasionally occur.
- In the event of a significant delay or change, the school will endeavour to communicate with parents through its official channels.
8. General Terms
- The school reserves the right to review and revise transport fees, routes, and this policy as required, with prior intimation to parents.
- The transport facility is offered subject to the availability of seats and routes.
- Matters not expressly covered by this policy will be decided by the school management, whose decision shall be final and binding.
